St.Francis of Assisi Church, Karumandurai Salem

St.Francis of Assisi Church, Karumandurai is located in Salem main road near Chinnakalrayan Hills. Karumandurai is crowded with beautiful forest and Hills. History takes us to 1980, Bishop Micheal Bosco Duraiswamy has taken steps to drain the Illiterate, Ignorance and to enhance the life of people in and around Kalrayan Hills. He started a "Assisi institute of development" in 15/09/1980 to cater the needs of people by extending the support he started Assisi Medicals in the same year. 

 On 04/03/2000, St.Francis of Assisi Church was constructed and given to Karunmandurai Christians by Fr. Victor Sunderraj and acted as a branch of St Lourde Church. Later in 08.06.2008 St.Francis of Assisi Church bifurcated from St Lourde Church and Fr. Alex Prabhu was appointed as the first Parish Priest. During Fr.Alex Prabhu period , St Lourde Kebi was constructed and opened by Rev Fr. Singarayan.
